Core De Force workout brings together two super trainers, Joel Freeman and Jericho McMatthews, and give you the ultimate MMA workout to get you in the best shape of your life! If you are familiar with Core De Force workouts, or max interval training workouts, this is a very similar concept that helped me drop 55 pounds in just 30 days!
Over the next 8 years, Joel managed local gyms, worked for the Department of Health and dabbled in some fitness modeling all while teaching Group X classes along the way. Yes, IF you approach the workout with a fighter’s mentality. It will be challenging, but that’s OK. You need to challenge yourself to change yourself. What’s nice about Core de Force is that there is a modifier who will show lower impact versions of all the moves.
Joel is originally from California and lived most of his life in Texas. After graduating, Joel attended Texas Tech, where he perfected his bartending, pool playing and housing construction skills and the occasional class…LOL. Core de Force MMA Speed is focused on the upper body and core. Its a boxing-influenced workout that is shorts, but gives you a great core workout!
There are 3 different types of workouts that will make up Core de Force. The main focus will be on workouts that are inspired by MMA, Kickboxing and Muay Thai combinations! There will also be bodyweight training to sculpt and tone your muscles, and cardio intervals to elevate your heart rate and burn fat quickly!
Each workout has a series of three minute rounds, just like a real boxing match. In each round you will do combinations of punches and kicks, followed by a “spike.” The spikes are high intensity moves to literally spike your heart rate and burn a ton of calories. You will constantly be reminded to push yourself so you can “earn your break.”
Unlike run-of-the-mill abdominal training, CORE DE FORCE moves are “rotational.” That means you’ll work your core from 360 degrees every time you hit play. The result? A visibly tighter, firmer midsection and a more defined waistline in

So while there may be some high impact moves it isn’t the full workout program, and you can also modify the jumping moves. I modify the jumps without any problems. The main concern I have is that with kickboxing you’re going to do need to pivot your feet between moves like a cross, jab, hook, and upper cut. There is a video before each workout you can watch to see proper form, but a lot of time people have a hard time knowing how to pivot….

What IS Core de Force? Core de Force is a MMA (Mixed Martial Arts)/Kickboxing inspired total body workout program that was designed to blast fat and really tone your body QUICKLY! MMA Plyo is a combination of Boxing, Muay Thai and traditional plyometrics. It’s designed to help you burn calories fast and take fat burning to the next level.
NONE! Core de Force focuses on moves that use your own body weight to really shred and tone your body! If you are working out on a hard surface, I do suggest using a yoga mat or towel! MMA Shred is a Muay Thai – inspired workout with elbows and kicks. This will help you shred and lean you out fast. A super fun, results-driven workout that will blast your core and shred your entire body using fight-style combinations and simple, but highly effective conditioning exercises that’ll make you feel invincible!
Day 2 of Core De Force and that means Dynamic Strength + some bicep curls for added measure. This is 47 Minutes long where you do 12 rounds of body weight moves to get a total body workout in. There is a couple of minutes of warmup and cooldown included in the 47 minutes. The warmups and cooldowns are different which I like – variety.
How Long is the Program? Core de Force is a 30 day program (though you are more than welcome to do multiple rounds!), which will consist of 10 workouts that range from 30-45 minutes long. Dynamic strength is a workout that is high intensity but low impact. It requires no equipment and relies solely on your body wait to get results.
In the first 6 rounds they mix up all sorts of moves with tons of pushups, balance leg kicks, situps and a large focus on your core. In the final 6 rounds they go back to the moves in the first 6 rounds but add more intensity usually by lifting a leg – but bottom line to add more resistance to the moves. The Sphinx tricep pushups on your toes are hard. I really liked the 3 sequence pushups where you do 1 close, normal and wide, then repeat the opposite way for a bunch of them.
Core de Force is honestly for anyone! If you have enjoyed kickboxing or martial arts inspired workouts in the past, then this workout is definitely for you! But really, it’s for anyone who wants a workout that is going to make them sweat and really target their core in order to burn tons of calories and tone your body quickly!

Anyone from beginners to people who are more advanced in their health & fitness journey will be able to do Core de Force Workout. For beginners, there is a modifier, which will help you work up towards the more intense moves. The workouts can also be done at your own pace (which is why Joel & Jericho decided not to set Core de Force to music, so that people did not feel that they had to do the moves at any certain speed).
Absolutely! In CORE DE FORCE, everyone can work at their own pace! In each workout there’s a modifier that shows a less intense move option. Also, Beachbody? On Demand will have a dedicated “modifier window” feature which gives you a constant view of the modified moves!

Do know why the word “core” is in the title? Because every single move is designed to work your midsection. You know, our trouble spot! You may recognize Joel Freeman and Jericho McMatthews from Les Mills Pump workouts. They were amazing in them, but when Beachbody and Les Mills split their contract the powerful strength workouts disappeared. If you’ve done a Les Mills Combat workout Core De Force should be similar, but we shouldn’t expect the exact same workout either. Honestly, this workout looks better.

We have such a girl crush on her. She started preparing this Core De Fore workout program 4 months after having a baby. Having a modifier is a welcome addition for those of us who either don’t want to do high impact jumps and moves, or we just can’t. I have two bad knees and some back issues. On a good day I can go high impact but I usually choose to follow the modifier. You can and will get an intense and effective workout even keeping it low impact. Remember, you can go low impact, but not low intensity. You will still be kicking ass!

This will let you know what your allotment of color-coded containers is for your food each day. The nutrition guide itself gives you a list of foods that you can eat with each color container. Then its super easy… you just fill the containers with the foods from the list according to your daily allotment of the containers.
It’s a core-blasting, fat-torching, full-body sculpting program. You’ll tighten and tone everything and become stronger from the inside out. You’ll also increase your cardiovascular fitness, endurance, speed, agility and coordination—and your confidence! It’s great to see results…muscles popping, weight going down, and inches melting off, but working out also gives you a glow.
Core De Force MMA workouts are set up in 3 minute rounds to mimic how a boxer trains. Expect to go all out as hard as you can for 3 minutes. You’ll do a pre-taught combination of moves with an added in “Spike Move” to spike your heart rate and burn more calories and fat. Working this way is similar to a max interval training workout which has been proven over and over to give results without having to workout for hours on end.
Jericho holds certifications in personal training and group fitness from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), American Council of Exercise (ACE), and Aerobic & Fitness Association of America (AFAA). She also holds degrees in both Psychology and Physical Education.

The workouts have music, but unlike Body Combat – it’s not set to music. The reason behind this was so that you could work at your own pace. Mixed martial arts uses your core in so many ways. You hear about abs and crunches over and over again, but your CORE is what you want to work especially after having a baby. If you only do crunches, your back, posture, and even your abs will suffer. This program will help you tone and tighten your midsection without crunches.
Yes this workout would be great for someone postpartum. Jericho, the female trainer, actually had just given birth a few weeks before filming! The core rotations and plank work will help with diastasis recti, and the meal plan is customizable for someone breastfeeding. Does that help?

If you’re looking for muscle, this workout is going to help get you shredded. If you’re wanting to add muscle mass you may choose Hammer & Chisel or another similar program though. Joel mentioned that he was a lifting super heavy before starting this workout and while he lost weight (and some muscle mass) his body overall is stronger and this conditioning helped him be more well-rounded in his fitness.
CORE DE FORCE isn’t your run-of-the-mill Kickboxing workout. Each move, whether it’s a jab, a kick, or an uppercut, works your core from every angle. He told us neither him or Jericho like high-impact moves because of the impact it can have on the body. Joel has had knee and back problems to due past exercises so this is set up as safe and customized as possible.

Core de Force is kickboxing like Turbo is, but it’s so different. It’s not set to music, and you are really focused on proper form whereas in Turbo you know you get to “pump it” and “wiggle it” . CORE DE FORCE is not some common Kickboxing workout. Every move you do also works your core. Not just the center of your core, but every angle. Knowns as 360-Degree Core Training , it’s way more effective than those situps you’ve been doing.
